With nearly a half a million raised to date, Sangisetty breaks District record.

HOUMA, La. (April 15, 2010) – Ravi Sangisetty, the only Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress in the 3rd district of Louisiana, announced today that his campaign has raised nearly half a million dollars to date, a record for this District. Sangisetty brought in over $215,000 this quarter alone and has almost $375,000 cash on hand.

“I’m proud to have so many invested in my campaign. With the majority of my support coming locally from regular people like me right here in the District, and 77% of it from in the state, the people of the 3rd Congressional District have made it clear that they are ready for our country to move forward on the issues that matter to South Louisiana.

Extreme partisan politics will not save our coastline, protect us from hurricanes, or bring jobs to this area. We need a new generation of leadership that is willing to listen and respond to the people, and someone who is willing to step up and answer the call to public service.
